instructions for setting up ping ID - iphone

When you access JLP systems, particularly from outside the Partnership network (eg at home,) you will need a username, password and a second identifier from either a smartphone app, text message or voice message. This is known as MultiFactor Authentication (MFA) and the Partnership are using a system called PingID.

You can only register to use PingID via one verification method, so decide which is best for you. These instructions are for setting up the PingID App with an I-phone.

To set up and register:

1. On your iPhone, go to the App Store, search for PingID and download

2. On your work PC, open the work application you want to log into (eg Google+) which will take you to the PingID screen.

3. Click on ‘I already installed the PingID App’. This will take you to the ‘Finish Pairing screen with a QR Code’ window. Open the PingID App on your iPhone and scan the QR code to pair your device

4. Complete your profile set up by entering a unique ID or “Nickname” that will only be displayed on your telephone.

This completes the setup of the iPhone App. Your PC will open the protected Application.

For ongoing use:

1. In future, when accessing a work application protected by PingID from your phone or computer on an external network, you will have to select images on reCAPTCHA and click verify.

2. On your I-phone, open the PingID app and swipe the PingID lock symbol upward (unlock the I-phone first if necessary.)

● If your iPhone cannot be reached (no coverage or WiFi) you will see Authentication: Sorry your device cannot be reached...

● Provide authentication by entering the One-Time Passcode (OTP) generated in the PingID App into the authentication screen for application being accessed

3. Application will automatically open
