Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship and what you were doing before?
After working for 2 years in the hospitality industry I decided to change my field and choose warehousing and logistics. I didn’t have any prior knowledge and experience about warehousing and logistics so I decided to choose an apprenticeship path to gain knowledge.
Why did you choose to do one at John Lewis Magna Park?
My friend was working in John Lewis and he used to tell me about the great organisational environment of John Lewis. While searching for a new job I saw the apprenticeship path so I applied straight away.
What do you enjoy most about it?
The best thing is we are doing all of those jobs a partner supposed to do and on the other hand we are studying basics of warehousing and logistics that makes a combo which give best value
What are you hoping to gain from doing an apprenticeship?
Gaining hands-on experience and knowledge within the industry, and understanding best practice. I would say its a
good combo that maximises overall understanding of the warehousing industry, and I will get a recognised apprenticeship certification.
Why should someone else think of doing one?
To become a part of one of the best organisations, to work in warehousing that has a supportive environment and of course to get overall industry knowledge
